Tis the season to be jolly, and the Darwin Waterfront is gearing up for a fantastic Christmas celebration.

From festive carols to sparkling lights and even a special appearance by a very jolly person, hint – they are coming all the way from the North Pole.

The festivities kick off on Friday, 1 December at Stoke Hills Wharf. Witness a unique spectacle as Santa trades his sleigh for a jet ski, putting on a high-speed show with his elves at 5:30 pm. Following the daring display, Santa will disembark and greet visitors at the Wharf from 6pm to 7pm.

Santa will be a regular guest at the Waterfront Surf Shack every Thursday and Saturday, from 5:30pm to 7pm, with special visits from Top End Critters and Darwin City Brass Band, adding an extra sprinkling of holiday cheer.

The liquid light series continues its magic with its second instalment ‘Christmas Cascades’, commencing in mid-December. For 12 nights the Recreation Lagoon will come alive with a captivating display of sound, light, fire, and water at 7:30pm, 8pm and 8:30pm.

Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a party! Mark your calendars for Monday 18, December with a massive pool party hosted in Wave Lagoon, with a very special visit from the jolly-man himself at 10am.

As Christmas approaches, from 19 December, Santa will be making nightly appearances at the Surf Shack from 6:30pm to 8pm. While you’re enjoying the festivities, don’t forget to explore the surrounding restaurants at the Waterfront, which will remain open and ready to welcome you throughout the month of December.
