Christmas in Darwin

A VERY DARWIN CHRISTMAS PAGEANT

The Darwin Christmas Pageant made it’s highly-anticipated return on on Saturday 18 November 2023.

More than 13,000 people gathered in the heart of Darwin City to watch as 45 community led floats and 650 Territorians walked, danced and paraded as part of the Pageant. Floats ranged from walking and dancing groups, single vehicles and floats with trailers! After the Pageant was the City of Darwin Lord Mayor’s Lighting of the Christmas Tree – which officially welcomed the festive season to our beautiful, tropical city!

Planning is already underway to make the 2024 A Very Darwin Christmas Pageant bigger, better and merrier than ever!

Check out some photos and event information from the 2023 A Very Darwin Christmas Pageant below:

BEST FLOAT COMPETITION

Santa’s not the only one with presents this year – we have some amazing prizes to give away to the best float at this year’s Christmas Pageant! Our panel of secret judges will assess floats on their creativity, uniqueness, sustainability and staying within the Christmas theme.

The award for the best float will be presented at the end of the Christmas Pageant as part of the program
