Planning is currently underway to make this year’s A Very Darwin Christmas Pageant the best and merriest event yet, but what’s a pageant without a parade?
Registrations are now open for community groups, sporting clubs, schools, dance troops, not-for-profits, organisations and businesses to register a float.
It’s free to register a float, and participating in the parade is an amazing way to promote your group, highlight your community spirit and spread joy this festive season.
There are two float categories you can register for:
- Walking floats
Including walking groups, dance troupes and marching bands etc.
- Vehicle floats
Including bikes, buses, cars and cars with trailers or boats
This year there is more support available for groups who are keen to participate in the parade. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Micro-grants of up to $500 to help create and decorate floats.
Note: there are only 30 micro-grants available and these will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. The full terms and conditions can be read here.
- Information sessions where groups can meet with the pageant organisers to discuss ideas, ask questions and meet other float participants.
- Workshops designed to help you make an amazing float on a budget. Dates and times will be published online soon.
- A dedicated support team that will be there to answer your questions every step of the way!
- More information on the workshops and information sessions will be listed on the website as they become available.
